So, upon doing some research, I learned this: George W. Bush, during his 6 year "National Guard stint" spent 2 of those years at a National Guard Postal Unit in Alabama. (This is the place where his MIA status took shape.) The thing is, there were no planes there! The government had spent 1 million dollars on him (average per pilot for training) to devote himself to a life of flying. That's the oath each pilot takes when they start. How then do you ask to go to a place with no planes??? Unless of course you want to make sure you don't fly (not to mention avoid combat -- postal units were not sent to 'Nam.) Anyway, here's the deal. Right now in Iraq, National Guard Postal Service Men have been called up to fight. Under a Commander-In-Chief who had previously used them to get out of fighting. Isn't it Ironic?
