They are two models of the same machine, distilling thought down to discreet little portable poots of rhetoric, to be packaged and retailed to the mass market.

Our elected officials (GOP and Dem) are so far removed from real public discourse that they can only manage to interact with normal, sane people as platform-surrogates. There is no personality there. Take away the meaningless party affiliation, I’m not sure that they would exist.Greg Millshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11362936189772706298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11148465.post-1119473124412554522005-06-22T13:45:00.000-07:002005-06-22T13:45:00.000-07:00At this point, Hans Moleman chimes in: "I was sayi...At this point, Hans Moleman chimes in: "I was saying boo-urns"Greg Millshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11362936189772706298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11148465.post-1119472486683350292005-06-22T13:34:00.000-07:002005-06-22T13:34:00.000-07:00Oh -- and don't call me a spoiled brat, pal. I'm an immigrant's son from a country where people still can't vote for who they want so I'd watch out before you make sweeping generalizations like that. Not to mention that nobody attacked anybody for voting for who they want. We attacked the candidate. I know what Dear Abby is -- the joke sucked. That's the first time I've been accused of being "too serious." Thank you for your concern.

GWCrackpot Presshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07978351338595156501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11148465.post-1119472235632235192005-06-22T13:30:00.000-07:002005-06-22T13:30:00.000-07:00There is plenty of blame to go around for Florida,...There is plenty of blame to go around for Florida, including Democrats and Nader supporters (and of course an inept Gore campaign. Hell, we can blame a bunch of little old ladies in Palm Beach county who couldn't figure out the butterfly ballot. I am not going to blame Nader supporters for voting their conscience, and they shouldn't blame me for beliving that their consciences are flawed. But let's not lose sight of the true villiany of Florida 2000 -- the GOP stole that election BEFORE THE VOTE TOOK PLACE (with Jeb's purge of the felon rolls -- see PALAST, GREG)and AFTER THE VOTE (see BAKER, JAMES and COURT, SUPREME). The left squabbling like a bunch of sorority sisters isn't going to help the issue at hand. We've got the MSM to deal with, the FCC, the purge at PBS, Tom Delay, etc, etc, etc. We all agree that the present system doesn't work. While we play rhetorical games, the world burns and the United States is the match.

Before anybody goes all crazy with their BLAME AMERICA FIRST nonsense, I would also like to add my extreme abhorrance at the slaughter taking place in Iraq by the insurgents. We own everything that happens there (before the 2004 election Bush owned it, now WE own it), but those people are butchers.

Must go now as I do work for a living and my lunch break just ended.

GWCrackpot Presshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07978351338595156501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11148465.post-1119472119719253182005-06-22T13:28:00.000-07:002005-06-22T13:28:00.000-07:00oh, three more quick things. one: i thought the o...oh, three more quick things. one: i thought the only "qualifications" you needed to run were, 1. you are born a US citizen, and 2. you are 35 years of age or older. two: nader was a lawyer for many years prior to becoming a public advocate. do some research. three: dear abby is a satirical reference. all the dear columns where you ask for help, etc. blogs included. it was a joke. you seem was too serious. you can hate nader all you want. it's a free country. but don't attack me for voting for the candidate of my choice. you all sound like spoiled brats who do not know what it is like to not be able to vote. we should all be applauding that we can all vote for who we want, not attacking someone for who they vote for.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11148465.post-1119471540190282992005-06-22T13:19:00.000-07:002005-06-22T13:19:00.000-07:00Well, did you know that more registered democrats ...Well, did you know that more registered democrats in Florida voted for Bush in 2000 than the total number of votes for Nader? Think about it. There's no way you can blame Nader for 2000 if you know the true facts. It's like 10,000 votes. If just 500 of those would have stayed with their party we wouldn't be talking now. But they didn't. That's were the blame lies. Seems to me that there's a lot of pissed off Democrats who don't wanna look at their own party so they blame Nader. Long live Democracy!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11148465.post-1119468983203383902005-06-22T12:36:00.000-07:002005-06-22T12:36:00.000-07:00Just so everyone is clear there are two blogmeiste...Just so everyone is clear there are two blogmeisters for this site.

Giles and Crackpot. This is Crackpot.

Screw Ralph Nader.

This guy is a do nothing, who only cares about his green party every four years. In the meantime, he has no credentials to run anything. In fact to my knowledge he has never had a real job.

And yeah we are pissed at his short sighted egomania contributed to putting Bush in office in 2000.Crackpot Presshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07978351338595156501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11148465.post-1119468521437221642005-06-22T12:28:00.000-07:002005-06-22T12:28:00.000-07:00I'm an independent. How can supporting people who...I'm an independent. How can supporting people who ARE ALREADY IN OFFICE be a flip flop? Nobody is going to wave a wand and have the GOP and the Democratic party go away. If the systems change, then the parties will have to change and adapt as well. I think that's pretty logical. I did not use the term "vote," but in the absence of decent candidates who CAN WIN, yes I would vote for the person who I think is going to represent my positons better. If that candidate is going to be a Republican or a Democrat chances are I'm going to vote for the Democrat. In local elections there a Green candidates who CAN WIN and would therefore get my support. Ralph Nader is an idiot and I'll never support idiots regardless of who they claim to be. Does anybody still think that a Gore administration would have been the same as the Bush administration? Would it be liberal utopia? NO. But it wouldn't be this hell hole. I'm not sure what Dear Abby has to do with anything???Crackpot Presshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07978351338595156501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11148465.post-1119461392951124002005-06-22T10:29:00.000-07:002005-06-22T10:29:00.000-07:00It's funny.... You said the democrats and republic...It's funny.... You said the democrats and republicans gotta go. Then later you said "I'd vote for any Democrat or Republican that upholds the constitution." Sounds like flip flop to me. Also, the same tactics you pointed out the rebuplicans use against democrats who "stand up" (and they do) were also used by the democrats against Ralph Nader (and very shamelessly). Are you sure you're not a democrat in hiding? I was gonna aske Dear Abby, but this blog seems to answer faster.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
